Hi,

I recently set up SlimServer 7.0 on my computer, now that I'd like to move it to another PC. Is there any way I can just copy some files to the other computer so I don't have to set up everything again?

Thanks for your help.

If it's squeezecenter 7, then copy c:\documents and settings\all
users\squeezecenter\*.pref files and subfolders to the new machine. Please
note that the file contains some file paths. If the new system has a
different folder/disk structure you'll very likely have to manually set
them before SC can start.

Thank you Michael, the original PC is Vista, I'm moving to another XP machine, I'll have to change the paths as Vista uses C:\Users instead of C:\Documents and Settings.

I'm not at the computer, I assume these pref files are text based so Notepad will work? I assume too once I move over all my previously installed and setup plugins, they will just work magically?

Thank you again.

C:\programdata

No, Notepad will not do. The file uses Linux style line endings. Use
wordpad instead (save as text only!) or do yourself a favour and get a
decent text editor like eg. pspad (freeware).

Just install them as you used to install them. Then make sure you get the
plugins/*.prefs files, too.
