The Last.fm scrobbling/radio integration with Squeezebox has been for a while with plugins and more recently with the Squeezecenter 7.0 beta.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I just found this page on Last.fm: http://www.last.fm/hardware

It's mentioned on their blog too: http://blog.last.fm/2008/01/07/geekery-in-las-vegas

I hope this partnership brings many good things to Logitech/Slim Devices integration with Last.fm,, now let's hope they integrate Last.fm radio and services more quickly into Squeezecenter :)

I have been a happy user of Last.FM with my SB for a long while via James great plugin - but it it official now, built into the firmware?

I'm a lastfm listener and new here but this is what I have determined. I've been trying out SC7 before I buy a squeezebox.

SC7 installs by default with a AudioScrobbler plugin which only scrobbles tracks to lastfm, it does not allow listening to lastfm streams. To listen to streams, you have to download the community SqueezeScrobble plugin. I asked a question about the overlap of these 2 plugins only 4 days ago and here is the response from James Craig:

We'll be adding Last.fm Radio but not for 7.0. Their radio API is not complete yet and we don't want to release a broken version.

I will stick to using James' version for now then, but glad to see an official version coming. Cheers.

I'm also a long-time user of James's excellent plugin, but "true" integration would be great.

Just to make the Logitech team aware, this new Squeezebox feature (like SlimScrobbler) won't work for those of us running the SlimServer iTunesUpdate plugin to transfer play counts and ratings from SlimServer back to iTunes (I think there are a few of us). In that scenario, if you scrobble from iTunes as well (to capture your iPod plays into Last.fm) you get duplicate conflicting scrobbles in Last.fm.

To use the new feature we'd have to give up scrobbling in iTunes or disable iTunesUpdate. Neither of which I would want to do.

Best solution in my book would be for Last.FM to discard duplicate scrobbles but I don't think that's on their roadmap.

Last.fm may have changed something recently: previously when I synced my ipod everything would be dropped by lastfm if I had scrobbled from my SB in between. Now it is scrobbling and displays older timestamps on last.fm. It is possible that this only occurs when I've been listening to Music Services and is something to do with the "E" flag. I will investigate further...
