Skipping or deleting last song in playlist

If you hit skip on the last song in the playlist, it circles around and begins playing the first song in the playlist.

And if you delete the last song in the playlist while it's playing, it begins playing the _previous_ song.

Am I wrong in thinking that either skipping or deleting the last song in a playlist should stop playback?

Depends on your Repeat setting. But I'm sure you'll tell me it's turned
off.
