With SC7 coming out and some new hardware, will the fast-forward and rewind capability be better than SlimServer 6.5?

What's in the nightlies now is what will be in sc7, but we have some improvements in the works too.

I hope not - SC7 FF/REW is near-perfect already in SC7 for me.

What issues do you have with SS6.5 fast-forwarding?

Is this the "improvements" that were suggested in the beta forum, whereby it was suggested to remove audio feedback and manual acceleration? There hasn't been any additional feedback in that thread for a while.

Yes, those improvements. The talk eventually ends, and coding begins. I'd expect that when awy has something to show, the feedback will build up again. I believe these changes are not considered required for 7.0 so it may be quiet on this issue for a while.

Awy's changes might become even more interesting when coupled with the
scroll wheel on the new controller. You'd get something similar to a
jog/shuttle on one of those video editing machines... :)
