View Full Version : iTunes and m4a files

Ok. I know, that SB will not play the files downloaded from iTunes. But, I have a load of files ripped from CD's with I tunes, originally intended to listen on an ipod.

And something unbelievable happened. Originally, the files appeared as .aac Now, I copied the files to another computer (my music server) and the files appear as .m4a

Files, that are mp3, or .flac play ok., the files from iTunes don't play - I get the message Rebuffering...0%, and SB freezes.

I tried to rename the files, but they don't play either.
Do I have to rerip the files from CD's? or there's a solution?

Does your music server run Windows ?
If so - Quicktime must be installed for mov123 to work.

The server computer runs windows XP, the music server for the SB is slimserver.
Why do you think quicktime needs to be installed.
I'll install it asap, an let you know!

Thanks for your rely!

Why do you think quicktime needs to be installed.

Because mov123.exe which decodes m4a files uses the Quicktime libraries.
