The URL is:
http://somafm.com/wma128/groovesalad.asx

The 32 bit stream plays fine:
http://somafm.com/wma/groovesalad.asx

Can anyone else reproduce this or suggest a fix? Thanks,

- Bill

Seems to be working fine for my setup. (Ubuntu 7.10, Slimserver 7.0 beta) Works with both my SB3 and my TP.

My filetypes are set to native decoding, disabled transcoding on the server.

Doesn't work here either. However, the asx file seems to be pointing to the same (mp3) streams as the 128 kbit mp3/pls file. It works for me (Win XP, SS 6.5.4), so you might want to use that one instead...

Weird! You're right! The Groove Salad 32k stream is pointing to a WMA stream though.

I don't seem to be able to play ASX files that are pointing to MP3 streams. I'm not using Slimserver, maybe there's a firmware upgrade that fixes this on the SB3?

Forget the WMA stream, use the 128k mp3 stream, if for no other reason than it provides track metadata.

True, but the WMA streams are much higher quality - compare the RadioIO Ambient 128k WMA stream (http://streampoint.radioio.com/streams/114) to Groove Salad 128k MP3 stream (http://somafm.com/groovesalad.pls) - on a good stereo or home theater setup with Dolby Pro Logic II Music you'll hear much more stereo separation and openness.

Here's a better comparison - the Radioio ambient stream in 128k mp3:
http://streampoint.radioio.com/streams/111

versus the same stream in 128k wma:
http://streampoint.radioio.com/streams/114

Seems more open, with better definition on cymbals.
