Hey folks,

I having a weird issue with Slimserver. Slimserver is installed and running in Ubuntu 7.10. For some reason I cannot set the music folder to my NTFS drive - which contains all my music. It's mounted at /media/sdc5/Music. slimserver says "ops - "/media/sdc5/Music" doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again.

I can browse to that location and also play music using the default ubuntu media player. So what's the deal?

Please help!
Thanks!
Jason

Take a look at this wiki page

A /media mount point sounds like an external drive, but in any case, you should look into the availability and permissions issues covered on the wiki.

Anyone else have any ideas here? I still can't get slimserver to access my music - even though I can browse to it. I think I may have to just use winXP for my server :(

What do the directory permissions look like?

How are you mounting the NTFS directory? What does the command line
you use to mount look like?

I use fedora core 6, mount the directory using CIFS to the linux
box, and point slimserver there. Have always done this, it works
fine so there's nothing in either slimserver, linux or ntfs that
prevents this from working.
