View Full Version : Transporter wireless function

I am very close to buying a Transporter for the family, and would be using it on an existing wired network connection. We would not want the unit to emit wireless signal in our home. I'm wondering if there is a user user setting to fully turn off the wireless functionality of the Tranporter? If so, is the wireless emission really "off" (as in no power or wireless signal transmission whatsoever)?

I'm pretty sure I read that it's powered down when configured for a wired connection.

Radish is right (again). Frome here (http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_transporter.html?#trans-network) (Detailed Specifications/Network):

True 802.11g wireless networking (can be disabled)"

If you need to, I suppose you can always open it up and remove the mini-PCI card.

Unscrewing the two aerials would also attenuate the signal a fair amount.

the card is off when ethernet is selected.
