View Full Version : Switching to Imac--how to name the nas in Leopard?

I have been successfully (and painlessly) running several versions of Slimserver for a year and a half or so, on a squeezebox and a Transporter, most recently on an old PC with Ethernet wired to the pc and the transporter, and a wireless connection to the squeezebox. I decided to move up. I just successfully managed to connect the transporter to the server software running on the Imac. I still cannot get the Slimserver to accept the name of the NAS/directory/etc.

Does anyone know the naming convention? I have even tried pasting and it doesn't work.

I'm running 6.5.4 on an 8-day-old Imac.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the naming convention for networked drives.

For directly installed drives, the name begins with /Volumes (for instance, /Volumes/mydrive).

Try one of the following: /Volumes, /Volumes/Network, /Network/Volumes, until someone better informed comes along.

SS 6.5.4 wont work on Leopard. Try the latest build of 6.5.

Download of 6.5.5 just worked. Took less than two minutes. Linksys wirelesss G router, 1tb linksys NAS.

Did enable UnP on NAS as well as TwonkyVision. Unclear as yet if either helped.
