I've got my music arranged as follows:

F:\My Music\<Artist Name>\<Album Name>

Is there an easy way of printing a list of all music? I've got MP3Tag if that helps.

Tim

The script below is discontinued. The new version directly accesses the Slimserver database tp create a catalog.

Hi,

I had the same problem and wanted to have a nice list to put near my squeezebox. I ended up in writing a script for it as I couldn't find something usefull.

I attached some screenshots of the GUI and the output. It actually generates three output files;
1 HTML with the complete catalog including covers and tracklistings and a MHT file and 1 HTML with only artist, album and year (just for quick reference).

Some things to know about it:
- An .CSV export file from Tag&Rename is expected as input (see script help for more info)
- The script can't cope yet with semi-colons in mp3 tags because this is also the seperator used by Tag&Rename (working on that one)
- The script searches for cover.jpg files in the MP3 directory where the albums reside and display the album cover if found. This file is also used by SlimServer but if you have named them otherwise please let me know, i can incorporate it in the script. Should be a minor change.

If this all is no problem and you're interested let me know. Scripts can't be uploaded so i can mail it to you.

The script is a VB wrapped in a .HTA with some accomodating files.

Regards,

Frank

Hi, SilverRS8 - looks really great! All of my cover art is stored as small thumbnails titled "folder.jpg". Would you be able to make your script work with those? Thanks.

No problem. Just need to change the script line sCoverFilename="cover.jpg"

I'll PM you with an email address to send to if that's OK.
Dave.

P.S. If you really do have a Silver RS8 you're a very lucky bunny :)

SilverRS8, can you attach it? If the forum won't allow you to attach a script... can you zip it and then attach it? Also, I noticed that a tag&rename exported file appears to be required. What's the required format of the input file and what options did you choose in T&R before exporting it in order to end up with the sample you posted. I'd like to print a color copy and place it close to my SB3. Does a print out of the HTML file maintain the same format?

Thanks

> Select a genre (e.g. Classical)
> Select All Albums (it will display the list of albums)
> From browser File menu select Print
> Adjust print options from your usual printer menu

You can change the number of Albums displayed and printed from SLIMSERVER SETTINGS > INTERFACE > ITEMS PER PAGE (to fit the number of albums to print)

I stumbled across this nice little utility: http://www.uberview.org/
It's for Windows, no install needed and it is very lightweight.
