Hello,

I'm trying to get power management working on the Suse 10.1 box that I use to run slimserver. Since I can't get Wake-on-LAN to work on the box in both Win XP and Limux, I've chosen instead to allow the box fall back to standby state when not in use. However, it is immediately brought out of standby, bacause the SB sends an ARP packet once per minute looking for the linux box's MAC address.

What is strange is that the SB does this even when it is put into standby mode. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks,
Paul

Because the SB is never "off"

The time that's displayed on the SB3 is picked up from the machine running slimserver. That, I guess, might be a reason that SB3 constantly wants to talk to the server.

That, and the fact that it can be switched back on from the server.

Thanks for the replies.
It seems I'll have to try again to get WOL working...
