I just deployed WHS in my home network. I have slimserver running on the server but I cant figure out how to get the file path to look in the Shared Music folder.

Just make sure you enter the path from the server's point of view. You
can't use the drive you're seeing on the machine you're accessing the
server from.

Not using it yet, but I was considering it. Interested to hear your experiences.

Two thoughts:

1. Use the pre-release of SqueezeCenter 7 and you should get a nice GUI that will let you browse the folders to find your music.

2. Can you detail the process to install WHS? Haven't seen it in person yet.

I worked thru the problem. The correct path is \\HOMESERVER\Music As usual it it a simple fix. The slimserver seems to be working fine using the WHS. I made sure to add slim.exe to the exclusions in the Windows Firewall. Also i used the MS SyncToy to set up my shared folders. Nice little program.

FWIW, after installing SlimServer on my WHS box, I pointed it at d:\shares\Music (the path from the server's point of view, not the clients') to find my music.

Installation was just like installing on any other Windows box. I remoted in to the WHS desktop, installed it, and it just worked.
