View Full Version : Scanning Problems

I know this topic has come up before, but I haven't found a reasonable explanation / solution.

In the last weeks a scanning problem has turned up which I did not have before. Re-scanning my database (50.000+) started to take hours and hours. Even when I choose to scan for new music only.
Before this problem it'd only take few minutes. As far as I know nothing has seriously changed, apart from the ususal system updates.

In the past, I occasionally had a problem with Slimserver hogging up my system. This seemed to be a Perl/Mysql problem. A complete un- and reinstall used to fix this - but not this time.

There's a serious problem now, and I don't know how to handle this.
I already downgraded to the latest (stable) version, but this also did not fix it.
Anyone experienced something like this? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Starting SlimServer manually using the -d_scan flag would probably be a good start. Might give a clue as to what the problem is.
