does it do the SB?

notice the nice color screen...

i'd be willing to buy this and buy a companion usb rf module that would operate with SS and SN.

wouldn't it be cool if the remote had a headphone jack?

I have been using this universal remote with my SB2 since I purchased it.

Get it out of the box, connect it to your computer, create an account at Logitech, and 5 minutes later you can control all your appliances in the living room.

I only failed once, with a basic ON/OFF device connected on the electricity plugs to control eg. a light.

I use the Harmony 880 (essentially the same as the 890, but 890 has RF) with an SB3 and it works perfectly.

Depends on what you're looking to do with it...

All of the Harmony remotes will support Squeezebox via IR. The RF functionality is really targeted at moving devices like DVD players, cable boxes, etc. out of "line of sight". Since you have to see the Squeezebox to navigate the menus, the RF functionality isn't useful with it.

So... while the 890 is certainly a great remote, unless you're looking to hide other components and use the RF feature to control them, the 880 would work just as well. As an aside, my personal favorite in the Harmony line is the 720 -- it's got a color screen as well, but only 6 activity buttons around the screen, in exchange for a more rectilinear, modern, shape.

Hello,

I am using my Harmony 1000 to control my whole system including my Transporter. The color touch screen even has a high WAF number. The better half hated all the remotes for all the audio and video gear but hated a universal remote even more. Now that she can just tap her finger on an Icon and all the appropriate equipment turns on and sets the proper inputs and output automatically I have been told I can get more stuff as long as the Harmony 1000 will handle the setting when she touches an Icon for what she wants to watch or listen. Even better is that to switch from watching a DVD and start watching HDTV, again all she does is touch the PVR Icon and all the DVD stuff that is not needed to watch HDTV turns off and the HDTV items come on and any shared equipment switches to the proper setting. Thanks Logitech for great remotes with a high Wife Appreciation Factor!

another happy 880 series user (actually 885, the EU version, with slightly different button layout for teletext users, I think)
