I have SB3 and slimserver-6.5.4 (port) on FreeBSD. Running icecast/ices locally on BSD server and cant get the ogg stream to play. The local stream is http://192.168.200.2:8000/music.ogg and it plays fine on everything else I have tried. It does need to buffer for a few sec tho. I unchecked built in ogg support but didn't help. The stream is 16bit/320kbps. Here is the error I am getting with source_d enabled which is strange cus there is no auth on the stream...

I have tried putting the url in a playlist and in "Tune in URL". Kinda bummed cause I just got the SB3 and this was one of the main reasons.

Figured it out. Since slimserver and icecast are running on same box I just needed to use the loopback address. http://127.0.0.1:8000 ...

Yea, you can see how icecast is setup by looking at the netstat output to see what sockets it is listening on. I guess how it's configured is not *:8000

Actually it is as I connect fine from other clients...

dome# netstat -a | grep 8000
tcp4 0 33304 ns1.8000 raptor.57895 LAST_ACK
tcp4 0 0 localhost.8000 localhost.54607 ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 localhost.54607 localhost.8000 ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 *.8000 *.* LISTEN

This appears to be something to do with having SlimServer on the same host that is providing the icecast stream. Although it is working, it is very choppy and it is not preserving the metadata. May need to look into darkice or ffmpeg or some other streaming server.
