I've kept a close watch on this the synch issue(s) through this
discussion and nightly builds. I realize that this is a priority and
being worked on. I'm patient and can wait for a fix... even though it's
definitely why a spent the extra cash for a 2 squeezebox solution over
other options to just allow audio on my living stereo system. I'd just
like to know that the issues I'm having are consistent with what other
people are experiencing. If so, since my 30 day return window is closing quickly, I just need to know that it can and will be fixed so
not to pack them up and send them back.

Issue
1) If I can get the 2 players synched, they typically (depending on the
build) will play for hours without any noticeable or severe issues.
Some of the recent builds have been a little more troublesome.
Regardless, if I try to change the playlist or forward to the next song
or pause and then play, I have to sit through a full song of bleeps and
burps until the players synch and start playing again (usually on the next song). Sometime the buffer seems to contain different songs if I
have tried to fast forward some. I can replicate this issue EVERY time.

Concern
2) Sounds like this might have been working in previous builds back in
December. I'd just like to have some sort of assurance that at some
point this will work correctly. If so, I'm happy to wait for a fix and
provide any testing, logs, etc. helpful in troubleshooting the issue.

Again, I just want to make sure this is similar to what other people
are experiencing and that it is resolvable. I haven't seen anyone else
post the same exact scenario, and don't know what to expect from
Slimdevices in regards to support on this issue.

1 wired Squeezebox (next to my PC)
1 wireless Squeezebox (in the living room)
1 Windows XP Professional Desktop running slimserver
1/17/03 slimserver build (tried each since Dec 25)
current firmware on each box

Well, Dean has it working at Slim Devices. Jason has it working on his NetBSD
setup, so it IS resolvable. The hardware is there to make it possible, the
mechanisms in software are there to make it work. Somethign just isn't 100%
there for every setup. The more information you can provide, the better. Run
your server using command line like so:

c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe --d_sync --d_http --d_source
--d_slimproto --logfile c:\slim.log

I may have the path wrong, but if you find slim.exe in a dos window you can run
as slim.exe. Find the point where sync is failing in the log and send it in, as
a zip file. I suspect it will be much the same as the log info I get, but it
can't hurt to have as many examples from different OS's as possible.
