The linux solution is just like any other software player -- the
difference is that it's more scriptable. If you can find a command line
controllable player for your OS that receives streaming mp3 data, it'll
be able to do the same thing. An OS that expects people to be logged in
and clicking graphical elements is more challenging to hack, but it's
not impossible.
