Maybe it's just me or somebody else has posted this already,
but
Don't you find the description in the "Set Up Squeezebox" dialog on the Jive HW a bit odd (see attachement): "...press and hold the button on the front until it flashes"
I haven't seen any squeezebox with buttons yet (transporter doesn't count).
And then there's post #4 in this recent thread:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38887

I think it has buttons but no screen. What do you think?

Interesting.... but there is no #4 in the linked thread - was it deleted, or wrong link?

It must have been removed.
Here's a partial reconstruction of the post by danaronson:

OK, I reset the remote firmware, and the box (by pressing it's front button). After I select on the squeezeobx ID, I get the screen that says "Choose Music [...] However, the front icon on the box is going light to deep blue.

I'd read that but never put 2+2 together!
BTW Slimpy, how did you do that screenshot?

Press and hold rew and pause buttons together.
This creates a .bmp file in /usr/bin on the JHW.
I logged in to the JHW using SSH, mounted one of my nfs shares and copied the file over.
Of course you can also use scp to transfer the file to your pc.

It's also in the wiki http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?JiveUI although it seems a bit outdated. The save location isn't correct.
And to lock the keys you need to press add and play together, not vol+ and vol-.
I see if I can update it.

Hmm, I have SSHed into the JHB, but I don't see any .bmp files despite pressing pause and rewind together several times now.

Do you need to be connected to SC in order to do this?

Nope, connected to SC (which oddly caused a firmware update again even though I haven't changed SC), then got the following list of files in /usr/bin:

[ fipsld md5sum strings
[[ free mesg tail
arping freetype-config mixext tee
awk fuser mkfifo test
basename head nc testir
c_rehash hexdump netperf tftp
chrt hostid netserver time
cjpeg id nmeter top
clear install nohup tr
crontab jive nslookup traceroute
cryptpw jiveblit od ttysize
cut jivectl openssl uniq
diff jpegtran passwd unix2dos
dirname killall patch unzip
djpeg killall5 rdjpgcom uptime
dos2unix length realpath wavplay
dropbearkey less renice wavrec
du libpng-config reset wget
env libpng12-config rx which
ether-wake logger scp wrjpgcom
evtest lprof sdl-config xargs
fdformat lua setsid xmlwf
find luac sort yes

Am I missing something?

Ohh I get it...the firmware is pulled from the website, not included with the SC package like the SB/TP firmware.

I now have "1 r622" made today even though my SC is from yesterday.

Still no screenshot though.

You need to press both buttons and hold them for 2-3 seconds.
If there is still no .bmp file in /usr/bin search for it using find / -name *.bmp
I've just verified that the save location hasn't changed from r616 to r622.

That's the key! There she be!

Thanks.
