Might sound odd, but are there any children's - young kids - streaming stations out there? I've looked through Live365, Googled, etc... can't find anything.

Anyone?

(Yeah, I'm a geek who just had a kid 6 months ago :-))

We listen to KidMix Radio (search on that term). There's also Radio Disney, but my kids can't stand it (a good sign, in my opinion!)

We have a Kids station in the UK called Fun Radio:
http://www.funradiolive.com/

which streams at:
http://mediasrv.musicradio.com/FunRadio

but I suspect that if you are outside the UK the stream will be unavailable to you, hopefully not.

depending on your time zone cbeebies now broadcast on bbc radio 7 during the day. No adverts (for me vital) and well thought out programming.

If you have AlienBBC installed just browse to bbc7. Reminds me - you can also play "listen Agian" via alienbbc so you can listen when you want.

Sounds like there may be a market for such things. How about a kid-oriented Podcast? And get the kids to do most of the work.

Hmmm.. not sure Willa's up to the task yet - maybe in her 2nd 6 months. :-)

Yes, I think there's a market out there for a non-annoying (to parents) kid's music channel (probably several). The downside is it shouldn't be ad supported, but perhaps parent supported (listener) like Radio Paradise is. I know, I, as a parent would pay a few bucks a month to avoid "Lucky Charms" or "Elmo" or whatever ads...

I'm not in the UK, and AlienBBC isn't updated for the latest SS 7.0 builds yet (I think?). Once it is, I'm all over it! BBC rocks (except what were they thinking with, "World Have Your Say"?!?)

Edit: I just noticed that ABBC 2.0 Beta is out.. downloading as I type this. X-fingers!

Edit2: Looks like it works! (Can't hear anything from work - but it looks like it's streaming over VNC)

Must be my DNS, but I can't get to KidMixRadio.com or .net. Is it still live? Is there a direct stream URL?

Unfortunately, I'm 12 hours this side of the UK, so I just get the "Fun Radio @ Nite", which isn't bad, but not kids music any more.

You're right that the web site seems to be down, but I'm listening to the stream now at http://rs4.radiostreamer.com:9270/

Also, check out Hip Young Parent Radio on Live365.com
