Will anyone buy my Slim Devices cloth? I have a raging crack habit I have to feed. The cloth would look great framed or equally fantastic atop a flag pole. What better way of declaring your personal war on digital modernity? Also makes your bass sound tighter, treble sweeter and display less grubby.

Please note: Frame and flag pole not included. Non-sectarian and non-discrimanotory, the Slim Devices cloth cleans old and new models alike. Do not attempt to repair at home as this may void your warranty.

Put it on ebay. Someone will buy it.

Here is a picture of my highly prized cloth. The machine embroidery is breathtaking and it is actually a much more subtle tone of grey than the photo shows, enhancing upper dynamics and reducing overall grubbiness by up to 95%. I feel confident it will improve any system costing below $50k and beat many cloths costing more than twice its price.

Mr JB, Madrid, says "I was amazed that a cloth that came free with my squeezebox would sell for so much money simply beacuse it said one brand name and not another."

I have not yet decided the venue for the sale (Ebay? Christies? A car boot sale in Feltham?) but anticipate enormous demand. I will also consider trading for a slim devices dead gift horse.

just to let you guys know: i just bought a "hybrid" squeezebox! YES! it is a slimdevices SB3, but it came with a logitech remote in the box! how is THAT for rarity value? ;-)
i would be willing to consider bids starting at no less than 1000.

and before anyone asks: yes the two of them get along just fine.

@skunk: seriously, sell it on ebay - you'll make more money. i have been following the ebay prices for SB3 in germany. and let me tell you, one guy bought a used SB3 for 325 (plus shipping)! retail price @ logitech online: 300. d'uh....

I'm only selling the squeezebox box. It's v.3 w/ silver faceplate box.

That's a bit pricey for the bidding to start for a cardboard box.

I'm really just responding to this in case you are serious in your deception
and someone doesn't catch on to the fact that you are selling just the
wrapping the SB came in.

Three boxes actually (item will be double boxed for safe shipment).

It's in temperature controlled storage, but I will check for the logo info tomorrow Tyler.

I'm sure the original SlimDevices boxes are stronger than Logitech ones. Or sound better. Or nine out of ten cats prefer them for sleeping in.

Did you blind test that?

I would have done but I couldn't find any blind cats.

um...if the Slim logo is covered by the shipping label...does that nullify the existence of the box?

I was thinking along the lines of:
If the blind cat is in the SD box, does the SB sound better/different, according to the quantum effect of whether or not the cat is dead?
If there are 2 cats in the box, does that make it a double-blind? How does that affect the quantum effects on the sound?

...if the SB isolated in its box, can people still hear jitter?

tyler_durden

...if the SB isolated in its box, can people still hear jitter?

More importantly, can the blind, dead cat hear the jitter? What exactly is the role of the eyes in the audibility of jitter? For that matter, what is the role of life in the audibility of jitter? To carry it further, what is the role of cats in the audibility of jitter?

So the cats have nine lives...pissed off at being taped up in a box...scratch the poor blokes eyes out upon his opening the said box...bloke goes blind...hearing improves as compensation for his sudden blindness...bloke returns box due to excessive jitter. (cats have escaped, wandering about the countryside blind).

Jeeze, this is getting ridiculous.
But..so is quantum mechanics.

tyler_durden

I suspect that when the eyes can't see the logo on the box the audibility of the jitter drops dramatically.

If you place a black cat inside the SD box and run the Squeezebox on top of the box, have you implemented a "Furbee" Slipstream Quantum Purifier?

Would an orange cat inside a Transporter's box make up a Furbee Slipstream Golden Goddess Purifier?

Apologies in advance to those who use Quantum Purifiers ... The setup posts just made it too easy.

guys, you got me worried about the logitech logo on my remote.

quantum physics does not dictacte local causality.

do you think the logitech logo on my remote is worsening the jitter on my SB3? i cant hear it, but the cat next door has been acting strange lately. however, it is not blind, so it may not be a good candidate to detect jitter.

or does the original slimdevices housing of my SB3 shield that?

btw - the bidding wars have begun.

the first bid for 1$ + 5.50$ (S&H) has come in...

Nicely steered back on topic there, dcote.

Although I do think "dead cat syndrome" should be added to Sean Adams' Response-O-Matic checklist. (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=200910&postcount=2)

Only 1 day left and the bidding is still at only $1? I'm starting to think all the logo-haters were just talking through their hats! Is that the message you guys want to send to Logitech? C'mon, show them what you really think and bid the thing up!

A lousy $6.87 for an original SlimDevices logo faceplate?

Logitech has nothing to fear about the logo on the SqueezeBox. Those who whined about it have nothing more to say. Pffft!

No, Don't point that out!
Now they'll just go and change the photo and we'll all forget what a
SlimDevices logo looks like

Because the units you purchase from the Slim Device's website still have the Slim Devices logo on them.

Is that right? I thought the SlimDevices stock was all gone? So anybody in North America who orders one today gets the SlimDevices logo, but overseas gets the Logitech version?
