Now I understand..... I can't imagine living without the Archers (but you
can always "listen again" on the website!)

Ah, but I assume by your address that you are in the UK and have access
to such modern marvels. I am an ex-pat out in the US, hence the desire
to stream British radio over that internet.

You should try one of them new-fangled receiver things for the radio. I
have
one and it is so good that all I have to do is press button 4 and I get
Radio 4 coming out of my speakers!

1: Sounds perfectly acceptable.
2: This is kind of a showstopper me. I can live without streaming WMA
but not being able to stream the majority of BBC radio content is a real
limiting factor for me.
3: Good.
4: That is not a big problem...
5a: I can live with this, but it's a shame.
5b: Good, because I tend to encode in AAC these days.
6: Again I can live with this...

Looks like I will have to wait and see how streaming real audio turns
out. Any official word from the company on getting this to work?

Thanks for the help,

James

less than 1 second. varies depending on network connection and server
speed.

real audio does't work yet. its in the works. The vague answer is an
option,
but I'm sensing that it might be something you are not going to want to
attempt
just yet.

yes. you need to install ffmpeg, though.

I think not quite yet, but I may be wrong. I haven't tried.

yes.
