Did anyone try and use SlimServer and GiantDisc (http://giantdisc.org/) on the same computer? GiantDisc is a Linux-based jukebox that can be remote controlled by a Palm or a web client. Unlike SlimServer, the music is played through the soundcard of the computer. As my SlimServer server is located near a hifi amplifier in my workroom, this would save me one Squeezebox ;-)

The goal is to use the same music files with SlimServer and GiantDisc (no double storage).

Experiences with GiantDisc anyone?

How about using SoftSqueeze on the PC and then controlling it with anything that has a web browser?

just an idea :)

One limitation is that SoftSqueeze won't play LAME mp3s gapless. Not sure about FLAC or WAV.

Does it not? oh. I thought that had been fixed a couple of releases ago.
