slimserver 6.5.4 plays the radio without problem, so installation & connection okay. The music folder is however not detected: it is in the home directory of my linux ubuntu machine [home/henk/Music]. I can navigate there and give the path in slimserver. i'm new to linux, so maybe i do something wrong in the path? any ideas?

The two things to check are i) have you entered the path to the music files correctly in the Music Folder box of the basic settings page (and then clicked on "Change" to set and save it). If you have entered it as you showed in your post then you are missing a leading backslash. ii) do you have permissions sets for users other than yourself to read the music directory?

Thanks a lot Davep!!
Yes, there was a backslash in the path, and yes, i clicked change & rescan. The problem was the permissions. I have set all permissions in the music folder to maximum and this solved the problem...thanks again!
