View Full Version : Server settings/behavior : does not affect scan - why?

I have installed different versions of slimserver software in two different PCs and still can't get the behavior settings to affect the scan.

What I am trying to do:
1. change "MULTIPLE ITEMS IN TAGS" to ", & and" so, for instance, "Aretha Franklin & Luther Vandross" becomes two different contributors. I modified it, rescanned my library but did not work!

2. The "Greatest Hits" bug. I am using version 6.3.4 but when I select the album "Greatest Hits" I still get different albums from different contributors mixed in. Each of my albums is in a different folder (if matters)

3. "GROUP DISCS" does not affect at all how my albums are displayed. I selected "Treat multi-disc sets as a single album" but still get two albums multiple albums based only on the disc, for example: "Columbia Years 1955-85: Blues & Standards (Disc 1)" and "Columbia Years 1955-85: Blues & Standards (Disc 2)"

What is wrong? I believe it works for somebody but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. All my files are *.mp3 with ID3 tag v2.2 (ripped using Itunes from original CDs). My PCs are running Windows XP.

Thanks is advance for any help
Felipe

While I'm a little at a loss with 1 & 2 (they just work for me)...

I hope this is 6.5.4? Otherwise I'd ask you to update.

First get rid of the "disc x" in the name, as these render the album names
differently. Second make sure you set the DISC/TPOS tags in your files.
