I installed an internal HDD to my Dell computer to store my music files. It works great, but about once an hour I can hear it spinning up for no apparent reason. I use Windows XP. Is there a setting that controls this?

The iTunes reload interval is set to 3600s (1hr) by default. Maybe this is
what is causing the HDD to spin up?

Don't have itunes. Thanks for the suggestion, however.

But do you have the iTunes plugin enabled? You might try raising the value
to 7200 anyway.

Kyle, My second hard drive does the same. Have you found any solutions?
