Global Product Marketing Manager

In this important product marketing position, you will help develop a product portfolio designed to grow Logitechís presence in the network-connected, streaming media devices market. Key responsibilities will include product and launch marketing, market research and analysis, marketing requirements documentation, and business case analysis. This role requires extensive communication with all facets of the organization and you will be able to directly influence the success of the products through your efforts in this area.

Job Responsibilities:

Build a growth strategy for a new line of business within Logitech.
Work with the product marketing and engineering teams to develop and launch new products consistent with the growth strategy. This includes building a business case, performing market research, and developing a comprehensive marketing requirements document to drive the product, the user experience, and go-to-market strategy.
Cradle-to-grave management of the product portfolio.
Support regional sales and marketing teams with key marketing tools, and develop processes and metrics to measure and optimize sales performance in each region.

However, as the business grows and/or markets shift, the role may undergo significant change so the ability to maintain a positive attitude and adapt to these dynamics will be critical to your success.

Requirements:

Education : Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience; MBA strongly preferred
Percent Travel : 26 - 50 %
Years Experience : 5 - 10 years
Languages : English; other languages a plus

Specific Knowledges:

You must have a strong passion for products and for product marketing.
You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in consumer packaged goods marketing, consumer electronics marketing, business development and/or management consulting that is directly related to digital audio products.
You should have experience with all aspects of the retail sales channel, including pricing, positioning, placement, forecasting and demand generation.
You must be able to function in a highly-matrixed, global organization. You will need to build direct relationships with key personnel around the globe, in both business units and regions, and be capable of leveraging those relationships to successfully evangelize your products. Your credibility as both an expert in your business, and as a partner with the regional teams, will be a key component to the success of your product line.
You should be sensitive to customer needs and market trends, and be able to translate those into an actionable marketing and/or product plan.
You should have an excellent understanding of market research techniques, and be equally facile in analyzing and distilling them to drive your product strategy.
You must have strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to truly listen to your audience.
You must be able to work in teams, driving to success as both a leader and a team member. The ability to negotiate win-win options in these situations will be a key to your success.
You must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, project management software, and the web.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently; fluency in other languages is a plus.
Worldwide travel required; must possess a valid passport, or be able to obtain one.

Software Product Marketing Manager

As the Software Product Marketing Manager, you'll be working on the cutting edge in music access products. We're redefining the way our customers access music, and our unique software architecture is at the heart of what we're doing. You'll work closely with our Engineering team, our incredible user and developer communities, and the rest of the Product Marketing team to put together the requirements and specifications that will drive the next-generation of our software.

Youíll report to the Sr. Manager, Software and Services and be a key member of the business unitís Product Marketing team.

What we want you to do every day:

Coordinate research on: customer behaviors and motivators, competitive offerings, the market in general, as well as the state-of-the-art in user interaction. Youíll distill these into user scenarios that will drive our application development.
Write Marketing Requirements Documents, including feature requirements, interface specifications, and possible content/partners, to help frame our applications.
Contribute to the development of the software specifications, collaborating with our internal engineering team, our product marketing team, and our community of developers.
Drive software usability studies and incorporate the findings into actionable changes to our applications and user scenarios.
Most importantly, youíll interact with our customers and outside developers through our forums, and you will champion their experience, feedback, and wishes throughout the entire SMBU organization.

Requirements:

Education : Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Percent Travel : 01 - 25 %
Years Experience : 5 - 10 years
Languages : English (required), other languages a plus

Specific Knowledge:

You need to have a proven ability to develop testing plans for focus groups and software usability studies.
You need to understand user-centric interfaces for software applications and hardware devices; if youíve had formal training in this area thatís a big advantage.
You need to understand how hardware and software technologies interact, and the implications of that on the design of a user interface.
You should have at least a basic understanding of digital music, MP3 players, internet radio, and the way people use them.
You need to be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (at least with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
You need to read and write English proficiently, and understand proper e-mail and forum posting etiquette.

Remarks:

Some travel will be required, including international travel, so you must have a valid passport and be able to travel without restrictions.



Systems Administrator/Software Configuration Engineer

The Logitech Streaming Media Systems BU, formerly Slim Devices, is seeking an experienced full-time Systems Administrator/Software Configuration Engineer responsible for maintaining our internal and external servers, manage nightly build environment and source-code control systems.

The candidate will be working with both the engineering and product marketing teams to develop and maintain public servers for our open source community, product information, forums, and other services, as well maintain our source code control system and automated build environment. Additionally, they will provide technical guidance in the creation and implementation of change control processes, leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management tools, branching and development strategies and in the performance of SCM implementations, SCM configuration and change controls.

Requirements:

BS in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience in systems administration, software engineering, and/or revision control.
Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux. Good knowledge of Perl. Python and other languages are a plus.
Expert knowledge of Subversion or expert knowledge of other SCM tools.
Ability to work well with developers, as well as non-engineering personnel.
Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education:

Bachelors or equivalent



Engineering Intern

Internship to join engineering team in the Logitech Streaming Media Systems BU (formerly Slim Devices) to help us develop and test new electronic designs. Experience with RF, analog and audio design preferred. Looking for enthusiastic, smart and excited engineers who love to make stuff.
