View Full Version : Squeezebox misbehaving

I've had some weird problems recently. I have 2 x SB2 and 1 x SB3. My most common usage is with 1 x SB2 and 1 x SB3 synced.

Occasionally the two synced players throw a bit of a fit at the start of a new track. This generally involves some weird noises and the display flashing between various displays.

So far it has happened three times, once with 6.5.3 and twice this weekend with 6.5.4.

I managed to catch this with my camera and have uploaded a couple of short videos on to youtube.

You may need to crank the volume up a little to hear the noises.

The SB3 would recover just by turning it off and on again with the remote. The SB2 only partially recovers, the screen updates stop but there's a constant buzz from the left channel which is only cured by cutting the power and rebooting.

Once rebooted I can restart the playlist and the tracks that had the problem play absolutely fine the second time. Each time the problem has occurred it has been with different tracks.

The server is a 1.4GHz Athlon with 768Mb of ram dedicated to slimserver. All connections are wired. The server version is 6.5.4 - 12445 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252.

Running the network tests show >=100% at 5000kbps for both players.

The only non-standard plugin is Michael Herger's MusicInfoSCR. No itunes or MusicMagic

Nothing shows in the log either.

Any advice welcome as I'm starting to feel nervous about my tweeters should this happen when I have the volume cranked up.
