I can't seem to scan my entire music library without an error. I am scanning FLAC files with CUE sheets. I ran a debug on the scanner and got this message.

Warning: Migrating from 6.3.x used with MySQL!
Setup::rescan - initiating scan of type: [wipecache]
Setup::rescan - initiating scan of type: [wipecache]

How do I go about fixing this problem? Thanks

A few more details might help - OS / version of slimserver / are you storing your music on the same hard drive as slimserver is installed on, or on an NAS?

If you're not using version 6.3 of slimserver then that first entry certainly doesn't look right...

I am using Windows XP with the latest filmware and version of slimserver v6.5.3. I am storing my music on a different hard drive then where slimserver is located. Slimserver is installed on the primary hard drive IDE while the music hard drive is a SATA hard drive. I hope this helps.

The selfsame thing just happened to me yesterday. I'm on 6.5.2 and running XP. Some of my music is on the same drive as slimserver, but most is on a separate internal SATA drive.

"Look for new and changed music" still works, though.

I've been running 6.5.2 Slimserver since it was up and this has only just happened.

I can't seem to get it to work either way. I always get an error message. I don't know what the deal is. Can someone that designed this software help me out? Thanks

I don't think the error message you see is the cause of the problem. Try the following.

Make sure Slimserver is running. Then run the following command from the command prompt (assuming scanner.exe is in default directory) and replacing <musicfolder> by your own music folder.
The output should show files as they are scanned and hence any problem files.

"c:\program files\slimserver\server\scanner.exe" --wipe --d_scan --d_import <musicfolder>

I'm having the same problem (running Windows XP Pro x64 edition). This is my output:

This is all gobbledygook to me. Does it make any sense?

I'm running the 2007-07-27 overnight download of slimserver:

SlimServer Version: 6.5.4 - 12431 - Windows Server 2003 - EN - cp1252
Server IP address: 192.168.1.151

Make sure you have excluded all files with MYI and MYD extensions and the Windows temporary directory from your virus checker scanning.

I actually uninstalled my virus scanner while trying to troubleshoot this, so that wasn't the issue, but the problem resolved after I did this:

1. Open slimserver and browse the music folder. Click on a few of the albums and songs. Their details appear just like normal.

2. After you've done that, the database has just those albums in it (but without the album art, oddly). i.e., if you clicked through on two albums, the server will say that your library has two albums.

3. Then I restarted the server and had it scan the library for new and changed music. It picked up everything else in the folder.

Still don't know what went wrong initially, though...
