I have the following problem:
When I have a folder which contains songs with hebrew names, the server doesn't find the songs which are with hebrew name. Only The songs which are with English name are found.

Thanks for your help.

Is it the file names or file tags?
Can you provide a capture of the dir command on one folder with the problem?
Do you see other tracks that have english names?
Are you using symbolic links?
What version you are using on what platform?
Do you see the file names properly in windows (if u r using windows)?

1. The problem is with the file names.
2. Attached is a sample directory screenshot which contains 2 songs with english names and 2 with hebrew names. As you can see, only the songs with English names are presented proparly.
3. I am not using symbolic links.
4. SlimServer Version: 6.5.2 - 12047 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
5. File names looks ok in Windows.

Thanks

you need to change the filenames to ascii, but can have hebrew in tags. it's a known bug.

If the tags are properly set, and you dont care much about filenames (I only use file tags in SB) you can use any automated tool like tag & rename, foobar2000 or any standard renamer and just assign them autonames. If I'm not mistaken, with tag & rename you can even copy the title tag to the file name with your chosen character set.

I think it's even a limitation with Perl on Windows. Nothing we can change
a lot about.

The bug is about to be resolved
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2475

As a workaround for now set
ControlPanel->RegionalAndLanguageOptions->Advanced->LanguageForNon-UnicodePrograms
to Hebrew and it will be ok

You will lose files with accented characters though
