Well if the same thing is happening on two separate squeezebox's it would
seem to rule the squeeze out. Have you tried another cable? Made sure the
volume was up? Make sure you're on the right receiver pre-amp input?

On 2 Squeezebox's I'm not able to get the digital out to work, coax or
optical. I've connected to a BK Components receiver and an M-Audio Super
Dac 2496. I've connected 3-5 other Digital components into these so I'm
fairly sure it's something specific with the squeezebox.

Is there anything I'm missing?

I'm not getting ouput from the squeezebox digitally! With headphones
plugged into the squeezebox, and hearing music from the headphones, I'm
hotswapping a Coax & Optical from a DVD player that is playing out the
preamp. I tried the same w/o the headphones plugged into the squeezebox,
in case some sort of switching is going on when headphones are plugged
in. I'm looking for where I'm going wrong, becasue I want this to work.

Did you check the volumne control built into the squeezebox? When I got
mine, there was no sounds from the digital output because the volumn was
turned all the way down.
