While we're talking speakers: Any suggestions for a
nice shelf-sized 2.1 powered speakers with digital
inputs to use with Squeezebox?

Hi,

I'm in the same research, and I ended up on this page (in french, edirol
main site seem to be down for now) :

http://www.valcenter.ch/product_info.php?cPath=29_80&products_id=1672

319 CHF translate to about US$260 or 200¤. This vendor is a discounter,
so you may expect similar prices (this is swiss VAT included, which is
7.5%).

We've got a pair of these in the office for testing. They sound pretty
good, but are, IMHO, pretty ugly. The main benefit is built-in digital
support and multiple mixed inputs.

Yup, the blue & wooden ones are, ahem, of questionable taste... :-) The
black ones (http://www.edirol.com/products/info/ma10dbk.html) certainly
look nicer to me.

Be seeing you,
Nicolas
