I had trouble connecting my squeezebox to squeezenetwork a day or two ago.

There was a menu option then to view Current Settings > Firmware. The firmware was 81 or something like that. Then I press the right arrow and saw a funny message like this:

"Mommy's got a squeezebox. Daddy can't sleep all night."

What's up with that? I joke from the Slim Devices developers?

Anybody seen this before?

It's probably part of the karaoke plugin you recently installed,
displaying lyrics while playing music. You're a big "The Who" fan, aren't
you? :-)

That must be the Easter Egg, or one of them.

Interestingly and a bit of a hijack I noticed when I first got my SB3 it usually says "Free your music..." when I switch it on, but one time it said something about Rock or Rocking sth.. What was that about? :)

SlimServer's start-up phrase is "Free Your Music" (soon to be replaced with "Designed to Move You" if the new boxes are any indication) but SqueezeNetwork's start-up phrase is "Rock Your World".

Ahh that explains it lol! I thought I had gone mad for a second. Thanks!

karaoke plugin? never knew about that or installed it. I did update firmware to get it to play Pandora radio. I don't see lyrics on my box, only song, artist, & album info.

anyways, interesting message the company put up.

That is hilarious!

I am going to see if I can get that message when I get home tonight.

Unfortunately, you may or may not be able to get there. You need to browse to the firmware display screen (under current settings). Mine said "Firmware: 81" or something like that. Then from there press Right arrow to get the funny message.

I found the firmware screen when my squeezebox could not connect to squeezenetwork. Now that it's connected again, I can't seem to find the same screen again. Maybe you have to be disconnected to see it.

He's right you know!
I tried this afternoon.
Switched the SB3 off at the mains.
After the logos, pressed right arrow to interrupt the automatic connect to SlimServer.
In the Current Settings bit pressed the right arrow on Firmare and there it was. :)
