Hello all,
Looking to update the power supply, it has to be said I’m not technically minded, but loving the SB3 and want to get the best out of it, (DAC will have to wait for now..) have been advised by Russ Andrews in the UK to try their PowerPak II which they claim “is specifically for the Squeezebox” but its 100V-240V input, 12v DC output, +ve to centre pin, 2.1mm DC Jack plug.

Want I want to know is, will this be suitable (and safe) because it seems it should be 5V? told you I wasn’t technically minded! If it is suitable, anyone in uk tried it?
Many thanx

if it's 12V then DO NOT plug it into a squeezebox unless you wish to set fire to it.

Using a 12v PSU with a SB 3 (5V) won't cause it to burst into flames, however it'll damage the electronics.

Shows how much RA have experience "yeah that'll do"

FWIW the Sb3 has over voltage protection, so it shouldn't damage the electronics or burst into flames- but don't try it at home, if avoidable.
