View Full Version : Debugging on Windows (Shoutcast Plugin)

I am trying to get the SlimServer Shoutcast plugin to work on Windows.
It's not working yet despite installing various Perl modules. My Squeezebox
reports the plugin as "DISABLED -> No Version".

I would like to see the debug intomation on startup. However, when i check
the d_plugins item under "Squeezebox Home / Server Settings / Debugging" and
restart the server the server loses the setting and so does not display the
debugging info.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Has any Windows user got this plugin going?

I've also been turning on the d_plugins flag, and noticed the following
in the log:

2004-01-09 10:37:07 Can't get setup group for plugin Rescan : Undefined
subroutine &Plugins::Rescan::setupGroup called at
/PerlApp/Slim/Buttons/Plugins.pm line 189.
2004-01-09 10:37:07 Can't get setup group for plugin SavePlaylist :
Undefined subroutine &Plugins::SavePlaylist::setupGroup called at
/PerlApp/Slim/Buttons/Plugins.pm line 189.
2004-01-09 10:37:07 Can't get setup group for plugin Shooter : Undefined
subroutine &Plugins::Shooter::setupGroup called at
/PerlApp/Slim/Buttons/Plugins.pm line 189.
2004-01-09 10:37:07 Can't get setup group for plugin SlimTris :
Undefined subroutine &Plugins::SlimTris::setupGroup called at
/PerlApp/Slim/Buttons/Plugins.pm line 189.

Anything to be worried about?

Bob - that error really isn't. It's warning that it couldn't call a function
that never existed in the first place. But it's ok that function doesn't exist.

I dislike those "error" messages immensely. When I added the screensaver stuff,
I deliberately swallow the errors that simply say that the screensaver doesn't
exist. I can try to do the same for this, so that only errors within the
setupGroup() routine get reported.

We should UNIVERSAL::can(...) for this to check and see if the eval should even happen.
