Hello All,

This weekend I hacked the DAAPD (itunes) Firefly http://www.fireflymediaserver.org/ server to read Slimserver's database rather then its own SQLITE 2/3 database. This allows me to export my slimserver database to iTunes and other DAAP clients.

The code needs to be cleaned up but if anybody is interested in using this functionality I can put a higher priority on cleaning up the code.

My future plans are to implements one of the follwoing scenarios to give the ability for an iTunes client to control a slimserver.

1) hack the daapd-firefly server to stream the audio to the Slimserver rather then iTunes client. The itunes client will receive a blank mp3.

2)implement apple's RAOP protocol http://www.cocoadev.com/index.pl?RemoteAudioOutputProtocol
This would be great, it would allow your squeezebox to show up as a device in iTunes.
