Is there any chance that SB3 will natively support/decode/stream iTunes formats?
Most of my audio is in ogg, that works very well, but now I installed "faad" on my linkstation pro to get those itunes formats running, I guess it has not got the power to decode on the fly. I am getting prebuffering and crippled sounds all the time...

Cheers

I think the linkstation pro should be able to handle M4A with faad provided

1. faad has been compiled to use fixed point as the linkstation pro has an ARM processor and no FPU.
2. WAV is sent to Sb3 - the linkstation pro may not have the power to encode into MP3 or Flac as encoding needs much more CPU than decoding.

I just tried to figure out where to get a fixed point decoder... Can't get the sources, http://www.audiocoding.com/ is down... hrmf

IIRC it's the same souyrce code - just a compile option.

Also I think the audiocoding site may not be available as Nero took them over.

An alternative to faad would be mplayer - it's a bit big but works.

I wget'ed the sources from a debian server, it is compiling, I defined FIXED_POINT manually and configured it with --without-fp and --npf... I'll report if it works.
