Yeah, more or less. I currently have a Ski-Fi next to my computer. I can
pull the audio out of that and encode a stream...would be cool to do
something similar with the PCR and be able to control channel changes
right from the slimp3 (would be a bit clunky I suppose - start a
shoutcast stream on the slimp3 and then control or view the channel info
from a plugin)

I believe there are already a few Perl modules out there to do the
actual controlling, I'm just not handy enough with Perl to put it all
together. (http://www.xmfan.com/viewtopic.php?t=7459)

I was thinking about this a few weeks ago - it's best implemented as
plugin.

Each OS will have a different way of talking to the PCR via USB/serial.

The audio data is transported over analog rca jacks, so those would need
to be sent to your soundcard's input, and the Slim plugin told to read
PCM(?) data from it. Also very platform specific.

It's too bad that the audio isn't transported over USB, though there is
a hack to put a S/PDIF interface on it. Not for the faint of heart.

Was that what you had in mind?

Yep, there are a few modules which let you control it. But again, not very platform independent.

BTW - Are there any "brick & mortar" retailers that carry the PCR, or would I have to order one online?
