I'm tring to get squeeze slave to output to an alsa pcm (or dmix) virtual device (defined in /etc/asound.conf) but all it ever seems to default to is /dev/dsp
I've got a 5.1 sound card which I've split up into 3 virtual cards (in /etc/asound.conf) so I can address 3 separate stereo pairs, and it all works well in xmms, so I know it's not an alsa setup issue.

Has anyone sucessfully routed alsa pcm/dmix to squeeze slave? Or at least create virtual /dev/dsp1 dsp2 dsp3 devices that squeezeslave can address?
