Has anybody tried iTunes 7.1 with SlimServer 6.5.1? Did you have any issues?

Thanks.

I use iTunes 7.1 with Mac OSX and it's been running fine. Of course iTunes is an Apple program,so it should. Are you having problems?

I think he's wondering more if the new version of iTunes breaks SlimServer.

No problems at all with SlimServer and iTunes 7.1 running on OS X. I haven't yet explored the new sort order tags in iTunes but I can't see that there's anything there to break SlimServer.

Hope this helps.

No problems with a late Feb build of 6.5.2 and iTunes 7.1 so far.

I upgraded to the latest iTunes (7.1) the other day. No problem running this and the latest release build (6.5.1) of slimserver. I'm running Windows XP.

Not sure if this is related to iTunes 7.1, but all of a sudden today my albums titles are not displaying on my SB3 after the upgrade. (Running 6.5.1 on XP, iTunes 7.1) I can browse artists, song titles, etc. but not album titles. Don't know what happened, haven't had time to check it further.

Thanks all. I bit the bullet and upgraded iTunes.

After a few days running I can confirm that SlimServer 6.5.1 seems to play nicely with iTunes 7.1.

I can confirm that the artist and album sort tags in iTunes play nice with SlimServer. I'm not using the SlimServer "use iTunes" feature, however, so I can't say if SlimServer reads the iTunes sort tags in that mode (I run a script that builds m3u's from my iTunes playlists and SlimServer uses those).

At some point, and I'm not sure when, iTunes converted my ID3v2.4 tags to ID3v2.3. When I converted those mp3s back to id3v2.4 tags, things didn't work all that well in SlimServer re. sorting. Apparently, iTunes isn't using the TSOA and TSOP tags, but whatever they're using, SlimServer reads it (man, SlimServer kicks ass).

Sorry I can't give more details. I did this a couple of weeks ago and have forgotten exactly what was off. I was just happy to have things in sync between iTunes and SlimServer for once. I decided to just enjoy the music and be happy that it works the way I want.
