Hi

I searched the forums and found some historical evidence of other people getting albums listed twice but I can't find anything that exactly matches my problem, which is as follows:

terastation running slimserver 6.5.1, all songs in flac.

Since upgrading to 6.5.1 I am getting a few albums (<10) of my 300 or so listed twice by slimserver.
- All the tracks are present in both listings
- I have checked the server and there is only one instance of the album folder and songs in the music folder
- I have checked the tags using mp3tag and all tracks have the same artist and album tag
- The same track from either listing has identical properties in slimserver
- I can add any track from either listing and it plays fine.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Jimmy

Hi

Well, I found what is happening - looks like a bug to me:

I have 2 copies of my music stored on my terastation. One copy in flac, the other in mp3. They are stored in different directories and i've set the slimserver music folder to be the /flac directory. However, the duplicate albums are where slimserver has (seemingly randomly) also picked up the same version of the album from the mp3 directory...?!

I've done a complete music folder rescan and the problem is still there. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Or is it a bug?

Many thanks
Jimmy

Consider it a feature not implemented yet. SlimServer can't handle
multiple format collections. See this other thread of today as well:

Thanks Michael. However, my lossy and lossless collections do not overlap. They live in separate directories under my top level music directory. One called mp3 and once called flac. Slimserver is pointing at the flac directory but it is picking up some albums from the mp3 directory as well. Don't even know why it should be looking there....?

Any playlists?

You can also ignore files with a certain extension. Server Settings - File Types.

Any playlists?

Ah. Seems I'll take the numpty award for today. Had some playlists which included songs from my mp3 directory. I hadn't set slimserver to ignore mp3s so it was doing nothing wrong.

Thanks
