Hi All,

Just received my Squeezebox last week and I had a few questions on
wireless setup:

1. I wanted to use MAC address filtering on my wireless G access
point. Is a firmware update the only way to obtain that info from the
unit? Also, how often are firmware updates recommended?
2. Is it necessary to temporarily enable SSID broadcasting for the
purpose of the unit recognizing my WLAN upon setup?
3. I wanted to confirm that the unit is indeed a 80211 "B" client
as opposed to a "G". My AP has a setting that will only allow G clients
on my network, which I assume I cannot use. I was hoping to only allow G
clients on my WLAN as to not take a hit in performance by having mixed
clients communicating with my AP.

Thanks for any responses!

Turn the unit over and look at the sticker on the bottom! (You can
also see it from the View Settings area in the player setup menus.

When you update the SlimServer software, you will be prompted to update
the firmware when it's recommended.

You should be able to enter the SSID with the remote.

Squeezebox is a 802.11b device.
