I may have lost connection whilst doing a firmware upgrade recently. I think the upgrade restarted and went OK. The output level from my squeezebox is now about 20 percent of what it was before, this is into my meridian D600 speakers and also the headphone output. Are the two events connected or could anybody suggest why my output is so low now? Many thanks.

Is your volume the same level it was before? And you upgraded from what to what? (The volume scale was changed not too long ago).

You can reload the firmware at any time by pressing and holding brightness.

Mark, silly me, yes the volume was set low. I assumed the output was fixed. Problem solved, many thanks!

If only all problems in life were this easy to solve! :-)

This isn't unique, though, and it took a while for him to figure it out.
Happened to me once.

I figure some standard warnings on the SB would be a good idea.
Just after connecting to SlimServer or SqueezeNetwork:

- Warning: Device volume is set to zero
- Warning: Device brightness is set to zero

It seems this would save quite a number of forum posts, calls to support
and heads damaged from banging against the wall.

Regards,
Peter

That's quite a good idea, although you might wake up someone with that last one and he might sue. ;-)
