Hi
I'm interested in the transporter or the squeezebox.

But I want to use them as an externeal soundcard that can be used with every player (like winamp, musicmatch, etc.)

Is it possible to use the transporter or the squeezebo as external soundcards (with asio drivers of course)?
I don't like the web-streaming

thanks for more information
Olaf

Unfortunately neither device acts as a soundcard.

There's a workaround, install Shoutcast and tune into the captured stream like an Internet radio station.

You also get the lovely "system noises" - beeps, boops and boings Windows loves so much.

The TP/SB don't do web streaming while playing your own music
collection.
Try installing SlimServer & SoftSqueeze to get an idea how things work.

just fyi, u can either disable windows sounds, or install a second soundcard.

with 2 soundcards, u could have windows sounds play on device 1 locally at the machine, and then map winamp to use device two, to stream to whatever.

i use exactly this kind of idea for my parents, who use a rca lyra wireless. works like a charm.
