More followup... players have now stayed synch'd for the past hour or so but
I am now occasionally getting audio dropouts on one or both players (the
squeezebox more often) and getting occasional audio decoding artifacts.

OK, after updating the firmware on the squeezebox I got a failure even
quicker this time.

On the 3rd track playing in a playlist the squeezebox stopped playing audio.
This time the display was counting down normally and interestingly enough
the lamps on the amplifier that indicate the PCM connection is sending audio
were flickering on and off. I switched to the analog outputs and also got
no audio signal.

Midway through the 3rd track the song resumed playing on the squeeze but was
substantially out of synch with the slimp3 at this point, finishing before
the slimp3.

Once track3 finished on the squeeze both players began to play track 4 in
synch with each other.

It's still playing in synch now but I suspect it will go out of synch again
fairly quickly.

Jason,

One more question: Have you updated the firmware on your Squeezebox
since you received it?

If not, start both the Squeezebox and the SlimServer and then press and
hold the BRIGHTNESS button on the remote for 5 seconds.

This will start a firmware update.

Let me know if that improves the sync performance.

I am still experiencing sync problems using the 12/26 build and 2
squeezeboxes with an OS X box. One squeeze box is wired, and one is
wireless. The first time syncing, the wireless squeeze will start, and
then the wired one will start 30 seconds later, out of sync by about
the same amount of time. When the next song in the playlist starts,
they will resync to within 500 msec. There are also some digi
artifacts in the playback. After a song or two both the units will
stop playing all together. If I try to select another song, I can
usually get audio after a delay of 15 to 30 seconds from when I hit
play.

I have been using 320 CBR mp3 files. Any suggestions on what to try
next?

Thanks,
Dean
