SB3 arrived. I went thru the network setup...auto obtain IP address using DHCP. It obtained IP address and after another screen or two it asked me to enter the IP address of the server where my music is. I entered the address of that computer, SB3 tried to connect to SS, after about 15 seconds screen went blank (turned off?).

I suspected a firewall problem. I can't find a place in Zone Alarm Free to specify ports as explained in the manual.

Looking for help.

Thanks,
Bob

I think you're out of luck trying to unblock specific ports using the free version of ZoneAlarm: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/support/zasc/faqs.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en&lid=zasupp_i#7

This feature is only available in the paid version.

I had to disable the free version of ZoneAlarm to get SlimServer/Transporter working on my Windows 2000 system.

If you have configured ZoneAlarm to notify you for network access, then when you fire up your browser http://localhost:9000/ a ZoneAlarm notification window should pop up. Check the boxes for 'allow' and 'remember this setting' or some such (I'm at work - so can't verify on my home machine).

You will then get a notification for port 9038(?) as well - do the same for that port (allow and remember).

While you're there verify the IP address of the server as well...

Good Luck!
