Has anyone found a way to play Apple iTunes AAC files by installing LAME?
I (finally) found the lame.exe to download and put in a directory that's
in my PATH. The AAC files are listed in the web interface and i can add
them to a playlist but they won't play

If you're referring to songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store,
the answer is no, since they are subject to DRM. You can transcode
them to another format, however. That is the only way I'm aware of
to play them via the Slimp3 or Squeezebox.

I know I've mentioned it in the past, but if there is someone we all
can email or write at Apple to try to get them to let you add support
for their files without having to transcode them, I'd certainly be
willing to do it.
