Dear Geeks and Geekettes:

How can I refer to paths on remote servers from within my (new and wonderful) QNAP TS-101 running SS 6.3?

Specifically, I want to be able to access the itunes library xml files which contain playlists. These reside on my MacMini. AFAIK this folder can't be moved. (Yes, the music folder can be relocated but not the '/Users/username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml' file which gets rebuilt if it's not present.)

Ideas anyone?

Supplemental info:

I like the ability to be able to build playlists in iTunes and use them in squeezebox but I've lost this by moving SS from MacMini to QNAP TS-101.

From http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93732 :
"The purpose of the iTunes Music Library.xml file is to make your music and playlists available to other applications on your computer. In Mac OS X other iLife applications (like iPhoto, iDVD, and iMovie) use this file to make it easier for you to add music from your iTunes library to your projects."

So I can understand why playlists can't be located along with the music source folder itself.

The way I have solved this problem is to use "backup" software that auto copies the above files every day from my "computer" to my Qnap. Has worked a dream now for almost a year.
