I have just added Radio Paradise to my SB whilst logged on to Slimserver rather than Squeezenetwork. I added the url of the stream to slimserver and hey presto - straight on to SB. Then I added it as a 'favourite' for future use, but I don't seem to be able to rename it - it just appears as '1049' or if I go further into favourites, it lists it 3 times as Favourite#1, 1089, and also by the url. Don't tell me I can't give a name to added stations???

You should be able to add a name by using the favorites menu via Squeezenetwork.com. Click on the "pencil" icon next to the station and type in whatever you want.

The MyPicks plugins lets you organise radio stations and names them as well. You can import Favorites into the MyPicks list so you only need to add name afterwards.

Seems easy, but when I go to this page:

I don't understand a thing. How is all this done?

I think we're talking about slimserver, not squeezenetwork.

When I add a radio station, I add it to a playlist I've created of radio stations. Adding something to a playlist is itself an adventure.

One way is to select the playlist in the web interface. Then select edit. Then put the name you want and the station url into the two boxes, overwriting whatever is there. Finally, press add.

For the first station, use the tune in factility and then, in the right hand web panel, save the station as a playlist.

If you then tune in the station from the playlist and add it to favorites, the name you gave it comes along.

You can also edit the name in the playlist. To change in favorites, delete the favorite and add it again.

There are probably better ways, but this works.

MyPicks is related to but different from WikiRadio. WikiRadio is allows users to share their lists of radio stations, while MyPicks allows you to manage your own list. They both use the "opml" file format for storing the lists of stations and MyPicks will allow you to import and export WikiRadio lists. Have a look here too: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?MyPicks

Millwood, thanks for the tip. I've been annoyed by this limitation for a while, and I appreciate having a workaround that allows me to name my favorites.

I saw a bugs.slimdevices.com ticket for naming Favorites on SqueezeNetwork (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1953), but nothing obvious for SlimServer, so I just opened a feature enhancement ticket for this:
