Has anyone tried to get slimserver working on this device? It has Linux running under the bonnet, unfortunately I wouldn't know where to start but if anyone has one and is that way inclined to get it up and running I would really appreciate it.

It's a really nice piece of kit.

Looks like the above device connects to the DNS-323 out of the box via I-Tunes. Make sure you get the Non-Pinnacle one though as that doesn't have a licence to connect to I-Tunes.

Original Roku M1001 not the Pinnacle Roku M1001.

I thoroughly recommend that you visit the DNS-323 hacking forum (http://forum.dsmg600.info/f3-General-Discussion.html/).

The beauty of the DNS-323 and DSM-G600 is that you don't have to reflash the firmware to customize them.

As for Slimserver, my initial thoughts are that it would be extremely difficult to get it working.

Having played about with the DSM-G600 which has similar firmware, but a different CPU, the route I would pursue would be to put Debian on it and go from there, but it would take a lot of work.

With the DSM-G600, I've tried the Gentoo route and the Debian route, and neither has been particularly successful.
