Hello,
A small practical question: Take an MP3 file with tags. Take the "Artist" tag: several names are inserted in order A;B;C;D. Slimserver scans and displays the names in the order e.g. B C D A (or any other order, as I have so far failed to discover a "logic" or "system"). The names are then displayed in the same order (e.g. BCDA) on the SB3 (logical I suppose). The display order could have an importance in the ranking of the "Artists"'s names and their display on limited SB display space.
Admittedly a small point, but nevertheless does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand your question completely, but have you looked at adding TSOP (PerformerSortOrder) tags to your files (using something like MP3Tag) ? It is the equivilent of the ArtistSort tag (FLAC) for MP3.

Thanks for the suggestion. Indeed, I have never yet had a look at these kinds of TSOPs. Two points: 1. I suppose these TSOPs would sort alphabetically or numerically. This is not necessarily the order in which I would like the names appear; 2. and be limited to MP3 or Flac files. How about Apple Lossless files? Does anything similar exist?
Or maybe a simple "rule" ; respect the order in which the names have been inserted by me (in this case)?
